Bakhiya Chikankari is a famous, delicate Lucknowi embroidery technique, essentially "shadow work," where fine stitches are made on the reverse side of light fabrics (muslin, georgette) to create subtle, ethereal patterns and motifs (florals, geometric) that look like shadows or textures on the front, adding depth and elegance to traditional attire like sarees, kurtis, and dupattas.
